  • QWK -> FTN , LOCAL -> FTN

    I'm testing software project called BinkTerm-PHP.

    I'm using it as a web based Fidonet point reader.

    I have had success in getting my FTN echoes to be accessible.

    But was wondering if there is a way to configure message areas that are QWK
    and/or local to the BBS, so they could be added to the point system via
    areafix like an FTN message area.

    This would give me access to DoveNet on the point software, and possibly
    local message areas I've created like bulletins.

    I offer Dovenet via FTN here.

    If you are trying to link it as a point reader to your own BBS, then you would need to go into the Network Options for each one of those areas and set these to Yes:

    Gate Between Net Types
    QWK Networked
    FidoNet Echomail

    Also, this is the Sports area, so it might not have been the best place to ask. ;)

    But maybe I'm missing the "fidonet echo flag" for the qwk sub-board; I figured out the Gate Between Net Types but have not been able to post back into area. Maybe that is my mistake.

    The sub-board would to be configured for FidoNet networking, correct.

    I responded to this in the sports area on my non-synchronet bbs but, yes,
    my recollection is that leaving the 'yes' off of the 'fidonet echomail'
    option will cause synchronet to "reject" any FTN traffic in that echo. I learned that by accident. ;) I think that could fix your issue.
