• QWK issues on Mystic - anyone else?

From paulie420@21:2/150 to All on Thursday, October 10, 2024 19:37:56
So another user, poindexter FORTRAN, is seeing QWK issues... they get QWK packets that work as normal some days, but other days Mystic archives up the ENTIRE message areas - not just new pointers.

Also, they are seeing responses that are double-spaced when uploaded.

I know Mystic has had some QWK issues in the past - I'm on a48 stable, any ideas? I have users that want to use QWK but I almost have to point them to a Synchronet BBS. :/

At this point in time, and if/while g00 is on a hiatus from working on Mystic, your best bet would probably be to upgrade to the latest alpha and see if the problem still occurs.

I don't think there's any kind of RTS or extended support period for the last "stable" version. Almost always, g00 would tell one to try the latest alpha and see if the issue has been fixed already.

FYI, most Mystic alphas are also considered stable, and if one happens to be broken, another alpha has almost always been released within 24-48 hours to fix whatever issue was in the previous one.

    Regards,
    Nick

Thanks for that suggestion - I was an alpha tester for a48 and since g00 hasn't been around I wasn't gonna jump to a49 until he was.

I suppose I can always go back and that it might be worth it since I have users who want to use QWK.

    ... lemme give that a think. :P

I've been using a49 since it first came out and have upgraded to the 05-29-24 version. I've not had any issues. I would encourage you to give it a shot.

    Send them over :-) JK

Hope you can find the source of the issue. I've not used QWK on my board for myself, but I get a few of my message areas via QWK and have been working
    well for me.

LOL - this one gave me a belly-roll for unknown reasons. :P Sometimes the Sync boards don't have all the FTNs that my users want, but there are a few... :P

Yes, Syncs QWK is much more stable than its Mystic counterpart.

Goal accomplished. To make you laugh. And there are some mystic boards that have FTNs, I don't . And then there are some I've submitted apps to that are still outstanding :-( oh well. I'll add them if and when I'm accepted.
