Mike,
The great thing about have grown children is, you don't have to
wait until Christmas morning to open gifts. We used to open 1
or 2 before midnight mass on the eve, and the rest on Christmas
morning.
Plus, the great thing about grandkids, is that you give them back
to their parents after their visit.
There was a tagline that noted "Never have children...only grandchildren". You could make a ton of money if you figured out how to that. <G>
How does the lightning detector work? Sounds like a good gift, considering your weather-related issues. I wish you well my
brother in the coming year!
Like the name says, it detects lightning from nearby thunderstormns.
A friend says his model detects it up to 25 miles away. I have an app
on my Android Phone called "My Lightning Tracker". If you pay a purchase
fee, you can upgrade to "My Lightning Tracker Pro", and get rid of all
the ads that are in the free version of the app.
You can set the cone of strikes up to 200 miles away...I've found
that 20 miles is sufficient. I have customized the notification with
the sound of a sharp thunderclap, so if the phone isn't in the "Do
Not Disturb" mode, it notifies me when a strike occurs within my
"lightning cone".
I hope 2026 will be good for all of us. The new years resolution
is NOT for quitting smoking, drinking, gambling, or another vice.
It's writing or typing "2026" on various documents. <G>
