• Lunatix on xp

From Jazzman@TIME/RCYLBBS1/VERT/TBIRDS to All on Thursday, February 22, 2007 09:22:00
Any Sysops have any luck getting Lunatix to run decently on xp? I thought
i'd give the regular comm routines a go but that didn't prove any better.
I'm speaking about the performance. The screen draws are painfully slow
and i've run out of ideas.

... Hacker Tip #276: ALT-H gives you SysOp access.

Same here... I have it here on Darkness, but it runs HORRIBLY slow...
I never figured out how, and gave up months ago to move on to
    something better.

I moved everything over from a w98 box to an xp box just to try things
out. So far this game and Timeport (same author) is the only ones i've
had a problem with. It's one of my favs so it really bites..ARGH!

... Is the Sysop looking? No? Great, now I ca...NO CARRIER

Have you tried playing with the YieldInterval value in your exec/sbbsexec.ini file?

That was GREAT advice Digital Man. I messed with numbers and settled
on 10.0 and now it works like a champ!

    Thank you.

p.s..i just noticed there is a character in the game named 'Rob the
    Psycho Janitor'. LMAO!

Seems to run fine here since the updates to sbbsexec... I think I have
the sbbsexec.ini's YieldInterval=15.0 .. seems to work okay for me,
you may want to try it with a lower, or higher number...

I'm running the board on an Athlon 64 3800, under 2003 server...
