I'm thinking a three DAY concert is more coolest.
The one and only time I went to a Metallica show was at Darien Lake, where they were kicking the tour of their self-titled CD. (Danzig opened for them. Fantastic show.)
Because it was the first show of the tour, they were jamming/practicing the whole weekend right up to opening time.
We were camped-out in a tent on Darien Lake's campgrounds, doing the amusement-park thing in between getting 1st-class f***ed up the whole weekend. It was literally like a 3-day Metallica concert.
Say what you want about them mellowing-/selling-out as they get older, but listening to them just JAM something completely improvised at full volume for half an hour at a time was wild. They can still crank-out some impressive melodic train-wrecks when they're in the mood.
