• bbs-scene.org api

    From Netsurge@TIME/DIGDIST/DISKSHOP to bbs-scene.help on Sunday, December 19, 2010 00:16:00
To all developers who use the bbs-scene.org api

I have just added an option to the global onelinerz api that will strip renegade style pipe codes based on a call.

adding ansi=1 will keep pipe codes in and ansi=0 will strip them. The
system defaults to keeping them in in no argument is passed. For example.

http://bbs-scene.org/api/onelinerz.php?limit=20&ansi=0 will return the onelinerz without any pipe codes.

I will be updating the official documentation over the next few days.

Any questions, feel free to ask.

Any questions, feel free to ask.

My only question/request would be to strip the pipe codes no matter what when sending it over to IRC or Twitter (even though I don't look at twitter). No IRC client can parse the pipe codes, so it makes them annoying to look at, or try to read. Thanks!

That's already done. IRC, Twitter and the bbs-scene.org website strip all of the pipe codes away so that text is clean.

I have already added an option to turn on or off the pipe codes so people can do as they wish. I don't think it will be long before echicken adds the same option to his synchronet .js mod.

Working on it today. There will be an option to turn off colours, or to parse them.

You can check the api docs, I added an option called ansi. ansi=0 strips the pipes for you and ansi=1 leaves them in.

Excellent. Thank you. That was annoying as hell. :)

I'm not too worried about it, to be honest. :)

That and the fact that echicken piped in on you saying that on IRC with something in the lines of (but not quoting) "yeah, I'll get right on that."

    :)

Yes, I saw that and am using it. There's very little work involved in making Synchronet spit out these messages in colour (console.putmsg() parses colour codes and formats output accordingly) but I'm taking this as an opportunity to refine some other aspects of the script. I'll upload it to you shortly.
