This is mostly just to test that this conference is working right at my end, but I figure I'd also say "hi". I'm an electronics tech, mostly audio, but dabble elswhere if need be. Been doing this in both the pro and consumer segments of the industry for as long as I can remember. Of course the consumer electronics segment has gotten so price-competitive that all but the very high-ned gear has become disposable. Some of the lower-end pro gear is moving in that direction, too (Behringer is one brand that comes to mind).

Luckily not everyone (pro or consumer) makes buying decisions on price alone, so there's still enough gear out there that's worth repairing to keep me in pork and beans.
