Sure looks like a great deal for the price!

I usually play 6 string, but I have played a bass here and there, and I
was thinking perhaps my wife would like to try and learn to play.

I choose acoustic because we often have little sing-along jam sessions
with friends while cooking out, or camping, fishing, etc...

Plus, I can buy the amp later. :-)
