This message area was intended for either stereo/home theatre audiophiles or professional/amature recording engineers.

    I'm a bit of both.

I have a Fostex DMT-8 digital multi-tracker (analog board, hard disk) that I going to be synchronizing with a Fostex D-108 (digital multitrack unit, no mixer) for 16-tracks total (44.1/16 on the DMT-8 and 48/16 on the D-108). I have a Mackey 1604 16 channel mixer that works pretty good, various out-boar gear (BBE, reverb/delay, compressors, mic pre-amps, gates), two DAT recorder (TASM DA-30 and DA-20), a suite of AKG, Shure, and Seinheiser mics, a rack-mount TASCAM twin-cassette player/recorder, Aragorn power-amp for the monitors and a set of Alesis Monitor One near-field reference monitors.

I realize I'm going back nearly 5 years now, but this message caught my attention, seeing as how I just got my first digital multitracker, the Fostex VF-80.

Mars Music (God, please rest their soul) had a super-blow out when they closed up shop here in Richmond, VA and I got a STEAL of a deal on the 8-track, in fact I had enough left over to get a nice Marshall electronics condensor mic and dbx tube pre-amp for warmth (and phantom power).

I'm wondering, Digital Man, how your gear looks today, what gear do you still employ in and outside of Weedpuller, as well as what upgrades in Pro Audio have you made since this post (1999) ?

    Thanks!

    Crash

Not much! :-) We haven't do any recording since then, but we plan to this year. Which means new equipment once again. :-) the hard disk in my D-108 appears to have "formatted itself" which means I lost about 7 songs from that last recording days of 1999 (or was it 2000?). Anyway, we're looking at going the Tascam MX-2424 and DM-24 combination for the next record. I'll keep you posted!
