I'm wondering, Digital Man, how your gear looks today, what gear do you s employ in and outside of Weedpuller, as well as what upgrades in Pro Audi you made since this post (1999) ?

Not much! :-) We haven't do any recording since then, but we plan to this ye Which means new equipment once again. :-) the hard disk in my D-108 appears have "formatted itself" which means I lost about 7 songs from that last recording days of 1999 (or was it 2000?). Anyway, we're looking at going the Tascam MX-2424 and DM-24 combination for the next record. I'll keep you post

Thanks DM. Did your Fostex, by chance have a built in CD-R? Mine has the PORT for it, but I didn't get that option, because I thought I would be dumping into the computer then to MP3 frequently enough. I think I >WILL< get the CD-R burner for it though, because I'm finding that there's a bunch of masters that now reside on the internal disc that I wish I could burn straight to CD. My computer is *STILL* CD-R less because at the time I got it, that technology was way too new. They got the newer USB external ones that are pretty sweet though, maybe I'll go that route.

Please keep me posted on Weedpuller's new recordings, I'd love to hear the process(es) involved and your upgrades and how things are turning out!

    Thanks!

No, neither of our Fostex units have or had that option. You're expected to back-up to DAT. (ha!)

(Ha!) is right! I always seem to get some great ideas down and usually fail to back ANYTHING up! Par for course...
